This has been a unique and challenging project, and after the long design and implementation process, it has exceeded all our expectations. The performance in the water is truly impressive, as we have managed to create a 105cm speargun with capabilities rivaling much larger multi-band models.
The ORION is a multi-band speargun where the main difference from traditional multi-bands lies in its primary band and anchor. This band, aided by a roller, is positioned on the upper side of the body and anchored near the muzzle. As a result, the 105cm ORION has a 155cm loading length and the 120cm ORION has a 185cm for the primary band.
Beyond the considerable loading length provided by this system, another significant advantage is the high pretension it generates. This achieves exceptionally high speed and power throughout the shaft’s travel until it exits the gun.
The setup for the 105cm speargun consists of one pair of 17.5mm and three pairs of 16mm Sigal Extreme bands, paired with an 8mm shaft.
This setup achieved shots over 6 meters, both on static targets and on fish. We observed remarkable penetration, consistent accuracy, and incredible speed, far beyond what is typical for spearguns of comparable size, whether conventional or inverted systems.
The system’s usability and complexity remain at the same level as the classic multi-band invert speargun, as no additional or different movements are required for loading. The bottom side of the rifle is specially shaped to accommodate the tire internally, without it touching anywhere on the body, but also with the rest of the tires. This design brings the bands parallel to the body, keeping them mostly “hidden,” aiming for the best possible movement along the horizontal axis.
The shaft rail, our tried-and-true formula, consists of six points symmetrically distributed along the length of the rail and covered with carbon fiber, while the remaining rail is at a lower level. This design allows the shaft to launch at a greater speed, as it essentially only touches these six points, significantly reducing friction compared to conventional rails.
At the bottom of the body, there are two balance slots, allowing the user to easily add or remove ballast to fine-tune the speargun’s balance according to personal preferences.
The wood used is exclusively Burma teak, and the trigger mechanism is by Ermes Sub. A carbon MVD large reel filled with rope is also included.
Each of our spearguns is tested and balanced individually before delivery to ensure its effectiveness.
